It’s no exaggeration to call the 2020 general election historic. Statistically, it featured Sacramento County’s highest voter turnout (82.6%) in more than a half century. Not since the post-JFK assassination election of 1964 (88.6%) has a greater portion of eligible county voters taken part in a general election.
Joe Biden also won the county in a historic rout. His 61.4% share is the best showing by a presidential candidate in Sacramento County since Lyndon Johnson’s 65.7%, again in 1964.
Below is a breakdown by individual communities and Sacramento Council districts. Of the 27 different communities listed, Biden earned more votes than Trump in all but five. (For a Yolo County breakdown, visit here.)
